People often ask why I decided to design Mahjong sets inspired by different decades. The answer is simple: Mahjong is about so much more than just tiles. It is about memories, stories, and the connections we share across the table.
The true inspiration behind this project is my 89-year-old mother, who has been playing Mahjong since her twenties. Over the years, she has lived through shifting fashions, changing music, new trends, and a lifetime of personal milestones—but through it all, Mahjong has remained her constant anchor. Watching her play made me realize just how deeply nostalgia and connection are tied to the eras that shaped us.
That is what inspired me to create the 60s decade collection. I want this set to feel like a beautiful time capsule, celebrating a distinct moment in history while bringing people together through a game that has connected generations for over a century.
For me, these designs go beyond aesthetics. They are about honoring the past, celebrating the personal history that defines us, and creating vibrant new memories every time we sit down to play. And I think my mom, who is still playing with the same passion all these years later, would agree: true connection never goes out ofstyle.
